Genetics of Hereditary Urothelial Cell Tumor, Adrenal Pheochromocytoma, and Testicular Germ Cell Tumor
Jung Seung-Il

Abstract
A family history of malignancy has long been recognized as a risk factor for developing cancer. The increased risk can be due to either a shared genetic heritage or a shared environmental exposure. Identifying a hereditary predisposition to a particular malignancy has proven to be a powerful tool to identify genes responsible for not only hereditary tumor syndromes but also sporadic malignancies. The identification of the genes responsible for hereditary urologic tumors has illuminated the molecular cause of many sporadic malignancies and expanded our understanding of cancer. The present review considers the genetics of urothelial tumor, adrenal pheochromocytoma, and testicular germ cell tumor.
